LES CATEGORIES

PRACTICE

​A practice session will be organised . The practice flights will hold with groups of 4 pilots. Every competitor will be authorized 1 (one) practice round of 3 minutes.


​QUALIFICATION STAGE

Races will be run with groups of 4 pilots.

There will be 3 (three) or if possible 4 (four) qualification rounds of 2 minutes. The result of each competitor for the qualification stage will be the average of the 3 (three) best times recorded to perform one valid circuit lap taking in account all the qualifying rounds. After the qualification stage, the 32 pilots with the fastest averaged times. Those will pass to the elimination stage


​ELIMINATION STAGE

Scenario B (32 pilots selected from qualification stage) with double elimination sequence will be applied. Every race will be run on 3 (three) laps


FINAL STAGE

The two best placed in the last elimination round (one race) and the two best placed in the last round of the double elimination sequence (one race) are selected for the final to determine their final ranking from 1st to 4th place


FOODS

During the event, hot or cold sandwiches and drinks, will be proposed by the organizing club.

Breakfast can be booked on day before


ACCOMODATION

On site, camping will be available for camper vans, cars and tents. There are toilets, showers and electricity supply.

COMPLEMENTARY INFORMATIONS ABOUT MODEL REGISTRATION AND PROCESSING :

​Each competitor can register up to 3 (three) models for the entire contest. The competitor can change the model before the start of the race, as long the competitor hasn’t left the preparation area, or between two rounds. The models should respect the requirements previously indicated in the rules section, namely:

  • Identification mark
  • Weight and size
  • Motorization and batteries
  • Fail-safe
  • VTX
  • LED light units.

Before the Practice Flights, the organiser will verify the models, validating each of the points above. When complied all requirements, the models will be marked with an easily visible and difficult to falsify identification.

Note : Random processing of models could be made after flights in any round. A competitor whose model wouldn’t be compliant may be disqualified from the contest.

GENERAL RULES

The 2019 editions of the following documents are applicable:


AIRCRAFT MODEL REQUIREMENTS MULTIROTOR

  • ​WEIGHT & SIZE: Each multirotor must have all the equipment necessary to flight and must not exceed 1kg with battery included. Maximum size must not pass over 330 mm distance between axes.
  • ​MOTORS: Only electric motors are allowed with a maximum voltage of 25,5 volts (6S). The voltage must be checked before every flight.
  • ​PROPELLERS: Maximum diameter: 6 inch (15.2 cm). Metal propellers are forbidden. Any propeller protection device is forbidden. A tolerance of 1% is going to be given either for weight, measures and battery voltage.
  • BATTERIES: According to 2019 F9U rules, 6 cell batteries up to 4.25V per cell (total 25.5V) are allowed. Charge of the battery may be measured before each race.

RADIO CONTROL EQUIPMENT

The recommended frequency band is 2,4 GHz. Any 2.4 GHz radio control equipment may be used. Competitors may also be authorized to use other equipment, such as for example TBS Crossfire module (868 MHz and/or 433 MHz).
Competitors will be requested to mention the frequencies they will use prior race.


VIDEO SYSTEM

The video system is based on 5.8 GHz frequencies. The VTX should be a quality one, with 25mW output power. The power and the spread channel on the band could be measured ahead of each race.

Competitors must bring their own video receiver (googles) and antennas

​Important: all videos (DVR) races will be saved automatically.

​Note: Any competitor who does not respect the maximum emission power or other restriction for use of the video transmitters defined by the organiser may be disqualified from the contest.


LED LIGHT UNIT

LED lights unit are allowed, but are not mandatory.


 

ELECTRONIC TIMING SYSTEM

The organiser will use Immersion RF LapTimer.


OTHER REQUIREMENTS 

  • Fail-safe is mandatory
  • Use of automatic piloting systems is forbidden.
  • Crash recovery / Turtle mode are allowed.

IDENTIFICATION MARK 

Each model shall carry the national identification mark followed by the FAI Sporting Licence ID number (or the National FAI licence). The letters and numbers must be at least 6 mm high and appear at least once on each model


PROTEST

Any protest must be presented in writing and must be accompanied by a deposit fee of 50 Euros. The deposit is returned only if the protest is upheld.


FAI SPORTING LICENCE - FAI DRONE PERMISSION

Each competitor must possess a valid FAI Sporting License or FAI Drone permission.


OFFICIAL LANGUAGES

The official languages will be English and French.

- One jury members will be nominated from the competitors. An alternate jury member will also be nominated for the competitor jury member, to serve on the jury when considering any protest involving this competitor jury member.

    Situé aux frontières de la Belgique, du Luxembourg et de l’Allemagne, le terrain destiné à accueillir la compétition est reconnu par l’ensemble des modélistes de vol circulaire comme l’un des plus beaux du monde. Depuis 1994, le C.M.B.L. a travaillé à sa création. Il s’attache aujourd’hui à entretenir et à améliorer chaque jour la qualité des pistes et cherche à embellir cet espace de 3.5 hectare par la réalisation de cheminements piétons ou plantations d’essences locales.

    Pour tous, au delà de la compétition, il s’agit d’un véritable plaisir de faire évoluer ses modèles dans un environnement d’une telle qualité.
